Tenants wishing to rent a room on ChambreHabitant are young people aged between 18 and 30. They are students, apprentices, seasonal workers, young employees, sportsmen and sportswomen (sport studies).
They must provide proof of school attendance, a work contract or an internship agreement.
- Sharing with a host family

ChambreHabitant allows anyone who has a room to let to offer it for rent. Whatever their age, carers who want to rent or sublet part of their home can offer a room or flat on ChambreHabitant.
- Sharing with elderly people
ChambreHabitant is a multigenerational housing and cohabitation solution that enables people over 60 to rent or sublet part of their home to a young person under 30. This solution creates a win-win relationship of mutual assistance, providing economical accommodation for the student and breaking the isolation of the senior citizen.

- Rental period
The minimum rental period is 1 month and the maximum is 10 months. The amount of rent or financial compensation indicated in the advertisement on the Chambrehabitant site is monthly.
- Shared accommodation
No. Accommodation is rented or sublet by owners or tenants in the private or social rental sector.
Can a tenant sublet a room?
Yes, tenants may sublet part of their accommodation. The tenant must apply to the landlord.
- How much does the ChambreHabitant service cost?
Registration on ChambreHabitant is free for the Student or Tenant. The use of the Chambrehabitant application is free (access to the advertisements).
Reservation of a room for rent is €440 payable on confirmation of the rental.
Registration on ChambreHabitant is free for the Host. The use of ChambreHabitant services is free.
Service charges are free for the selection of the tenant.
Lease drafting and signing are optional and subject to fees.
- What assistance is available for flatsharing?
The carer may qualify for income tax exemption on rental income under certain conditions.
– The host is over 60 years old.
– The rented rooms are the main residence of the Tenant or Student.
– The rental price (rent) is set within the reasonable limits defined in the ELAN law of 23 November 2018.
– The lease is an intergenerational cohabitation contract.
– The rent is €15.8 per m2 per month for the Ile-de-France region and €11.7 per m2 per month for the rest of France.
