Summer au pairing

Take advantage of this time of year to work as an Au Pair! Families need someone to look after their children often during the two-month vacation. We call it being “Summer Au Pairs”. ☀

It’s exactly the same as being an Au Pair all year round. The tasks are the same apart from the fact that the children don’t go to school! So you take care of the kids during the day, getting them involved in activities when the parents are working. 🧩⚽ In return, you’re provided with accommodation, food, laundry and pocket money 💸.

Don’t worry, you won’t exceed the maximum working hours allowed and you’ll have suitable break times. At a rate of 30 hours a week, you’ll have plenty of free time to enjoy the pool or the beach and see friends.

During these two summer months, it’s very likely that your host family will go on vacation and ask you to come with them. Great news, you’ll be able to travel and enjoy the vacations with them! With a bit of luck, the destination will be heavenly. 🏝 It’s up to you and the family to work out what their expectations are at the time: they’ll want to enjoy their vacation, but they’ll also want to enjoy it with their children, so it’s up to you to find the right balance with them.

An ideal option for a summer getaway, and if abroad appeals to you, it’s also possible to fly away. ✈

By moving to a foreign country, you’ll make language progress even easier by being with the kids all the time and spending fun times with the family. The pace of life is often cooler in summer, and these are great conditions for integrating into a family.
